Global Business Starts At College

January 10, 2011 No Comments

The necessity to know about global business and different cultures becomes clear in early stages of student’s education. High diversity in primary schools or kindergartens is a first stage but at the college level professors and students are challenged to deepen and combine their knowledge in diversity and culture with business. Virginia Commonwealth University professor, GloVan R. Wood, travels back and forth between all parts of the world and back to the educational institution regularly. The trips he goes on are not for personal enjoyment but instead are to stay on top of current global trends and business practices.

Wood wants to teach his students how to deal in the global economy as best as he can. Therefore he explains, “if you want to compete in the 21st century, you need to think globally. We need to teach students to be fully engaged in the international community.” Next to VCU, University of Richmond is another one of the universities in Virginia, which prepares students to work in a global marketplace and teaches them how to deal in the rapidly changing economy.
