Due to the generosity of Alumnus Andrew Farkas class of ’82 Harvard will be renaming its New College Theatre building Farkas Hall. The building was constructed in 1888 and is home to the Hasty Pudding Club and the Hasty Pudding Theatricals. During its renovations in 2005-2007 the building was able to keep its historical façade, which Mr. Farkas is very fond of, and add numerous rehearsal spaces and a 270-seat theatre which is open to the public.
Farkas was a Hasting Pudding Club president for two years during his undergraduate time at Harvard. These memorable times at the Hasty Pudding have made Andrew a huge supporter of the performing art not only at Harvard. Mr. Farkas and his wife, Sandi Goff Farkas, founded Playwrights of New York (PONY) a non-profit that gives grants out to emerging artist.
