Spurlock Premieres “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold”

Morgan Spurlock, the man who brought us “Super Size Me,”” the borderline disgusting documentary that followed the director along his 30-day diet consisting of only McDonald’s, is back again with another documentary that showcases the lunacy of American culture. Ben Silverman of Electus makes an appearance in the film, which debuted at last weekend’s Sundance Film Festival.

“The Greatest Movie Ever Sold” looks at advertising and product placement, and in typical Spurlock form, there’s a twist—it was product placement that paid for the film. In his film about product placement paid for by product placement, he talks to industry executives from companies like Electus, as well as politician Ralph Nader and Outkast rapper Big Boi.

In an outfit better suited for a NASCAR driver, Spurlock arrived at his premiere covered in his backers’ logos. Among his sponsors were Ban deodorant, MovieTickets.com, Merrell shoes, JetBlue and Carrera sunglasses.
