As some individuals strive to become more eco-friendly by recycling products, using reusable bags, and making other changes to their daily lives, schools, too, are seeking to become more energy efficient. Recently, some schools across the nation have hired third-party consultants, such as Cenergistic (formerly Energy Education Inc.) to help them become more eco-friendly.

Great energy saving tips that can cut utility cost by 500K in one district, tweeted by Energy Education Inc. Individuals can make slight saving by turning off the lights and appliances at home, which is maybe a few dollars every month. Energy savings for the individual isn’t substantial enough for a mass majority to take action.

Energy Education was recently named in a NY Times article as a top energy consultant to NY schools. Energy consultants have saved schools on average 20-40% in energy utility costs. These savings have helped schools balance their budgets, maintain staff numbers, and allow them to keep valuable programs.
